Review: Sephora Collection Lotus Face Mask

To be honest, I used a ton of sheet masks but stopped reviewing them just because I didn’t have the time too. I was busy with my club and internships and trying to graduate on time that I stopped doing what I love. I graduated a month ago with a Bachelors of Science is currently busy applying to jobs and just going on vacations with my family. But since, it’s summer and I don’t really have a strict schedule to follow by, I have more time to review products.

I received this sheet mask from a a Sephora Favorites Haute Hydration set from my best friend when we exchanged birthday gifts as I’m older than her by two days and she’s younger than me by two days… so when it’s our birthday week we celebrate together. I couldn’t find this set on Sephora anymore but it is available on Amazon (click on the link) but I don’t think it’s worth the price it is on Amazon because I’m pretty sure it was much cheaper at Sephora.

This sheet mask reminds me of the Too Cool For School Egg Cream Mask Hydration I tested and reviewed awhile back because it came with like a mesh thing that held the sheet mask together and in place. I did my usual skincare routine with the last step being my serum before applying this sheet mask onto my face. The sheet mask was drenched in essence which I was able to use the leftover smothering it all over face, neck, and body. It was super hydrating as it stated and left my skin feeling cool. Overall, I enjoyed this sheet mask and is hoping to try out more from Sephora Collection as this was a great sheet mask.

Monthly Empties: April/May 2018

It’s been a busy past couple of months that I haven’t been able to empty products/post my empties. I finally finished finals yesterday, and is looking forward to my graduation this Saturday for my BS. Just a quick little update before I go off and ramble about these products…

❤ – like, 🙄 – eh, & 👎🏻 – dislike

1. Thayers witch hazel in rose petal I emptied a travel size one a couple months back and purchased the full size and emptied it once again. Definitely a repurchase for me and I want to try out other scents they have. Got my brother hooked up on taking care of his skin as well using their toners definitely a must have! ❤

2. Sol De Janeiro body wash is a must have if you don’t prefer strong scents on a body wash. It definitely smells like pistachio and caramel for sure if you like sweet and light scent this is the perfect body wash for you. It lasted me a couple of months too so well worth it for the price. Definitely a repurchase for sure. ❤

3. First aid beauty face cleanser is an okay cleanser in my book very lightweight and definitely super gentle for sensitive skin. I just felt like I’ve tried better cleansers out there. I know a lot of people love this product, but for me I just felt like it wasn’t doing much. Probably won’t repurchase. 🙄

4. Fresh soy face cleanser another cleanser I’ve been using. It’s okay to me since I’m super not fond of the scent. I feel like the scent is too strong for my liking when it comes to cleanser and scented things. Probably won’t repurchase. 👎🏻

5. First aid beauty ultra repair cream in the scent pink grapefruit ya’ll know how much I love first aid beauty as that is my favorite cream when it comes to treating my eczema and dry skin so I don’t need to say much about this product. Definitely a repurchase for sure. ❤

6. Eva nyc mane magic 10 in 1 primer spray smells so divine and does wonder for my hair on days where I want to straighten my hair. I love love the scent of the hair product and it leaving my hair smooth and shiny and not a greasy look like most sprays. Definitely a repurchase for me. ❤

My Updated Korean Skincare: 11-step routine

1. Facial Spray: Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater

I love that this facial mist refreshes and hydrates my skin before starting my skincare routine and after. It’s lightweight, smells amazing, and is super hydrating for my dry skin during the cold winter months and whenever I need a pick me up throughout the day. I don’t only use it to prep / lock in my skincare but I also sometimes use it as a setting spray for my makeup. It just gives the face a dewy look. It’s great to spray right after taking a shower too, to replenish the skin.

2. Oil Cleanser: Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Oil

Three months later, still using this cleanser. This cleanser does not break me out at all and is very gentle on my skin. I use about two pumps and that cleanses my face and neck overall. Not only that, my boyfriend loves it too! For more review on this product check out my previous skincare routine linked down below.

3. Water Cleanser: Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

I got this deluxe sample size water cleanser from the Sephora Favorites Skincare Routine: Combo Skin links to my beauty haul awhile back. I’ve been using this for quite some time now and honestly, I know everyone on earth talks about this cleanser and loves it. However, for me the scent just wasn’t cutting it for me… I felt like it was a strong soy scent that I did not enjoy. It’s great at removing makeup and hydrating the skin but for me I simply, could not stand the scent.

4. Exfoliator: Skinfood Wash Off Black Sugar Mask

This is a two in one: a wash off mask as well as an exfoliator. I finished up the Skinfood Wash Off Rice Mask so I wanted to try this as it goes hand in hand with my oil cleanser. This stuff smells amazing and I use it twice a week to give my face some good exfoliation when I need it. I love the grainy texture of it and how after you exfoliate it leaves the skin super smooth, hydrated and dewy. Tip: If you find it to be a harsh exfoliator just add some water to it, and it’ll be gentle on the skin. Overall, Skinfood Black Sugar line has never failed to disappoint me as I love the two products from the Black Sugar line already.

5. Toner: Son & Park Beauty Water and Skin Toner

I finished up my Thayers Witch Hazel Alcohol Free Toner Rose Petal a couple weeks ago and decided to try this out since I bought this during Soko Glam Black Friday sale. It smells like wine to me but I enjoy the scent and it is not too overpowering like the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. I love that this product is also multipurpose it’s a cleanser, exfoliator, and toner all in one. I love that it’s hydrating on the skin and for resetting my skin’s pH levels. Sometimes, if I don’t have time to do my skincare routine I’ll only use this as it is multipurpose.

6. Essence: COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence

I purchased this from Ulta when they had the 20% off coupon. I watched a bunch of reviews on this product before purchasing it. And frankly, I’m in LOVE with this product. I love the sticky consistency and gooeyness of this product. It feels wonderful on the skin sort of like a thick hydrating serum but is lightweight and the sticky feeling goes away as it absorbs into your skin. I like that it locks in the moisture in my skin. It’s a great product to try since it’s different than most essence as those are a watery consistency, while this one is more of a thick consistency.

7. Sheet Mask: Neutrogena Deep Clean Purifying Hydro Gel Mask

My sheet masks varies from time to time but this happen to be the one I’m using today. I need to do a separate review for this sheet mask like I usually do for my sheet mask reviews since I’m a sheet mask fanatic. I never really use a hydro gel mask before so this is one for the books ha. It’s interesting that this is a two piece mask one for the upper part of your face and one for the bottom portion of your face. It sticks to your skin since it’s hydro gel and I left it on for 15-20 minutes… and well stay tune for a review.

8. Serum: iUNIK Tea Tree Relief Serum

I’ve been using this serum for the past two months and find that this product helped relieve my irritated skin and also lightened up my sun spots and acne scars. They aren’t dark as they were before using this product. I like that it is a mild scent, light colored green serum, moisturizing and leave the skin looking dewy. I find that this product absorbs into the skin quite quickly too compared to other serums that I’ve tried out. It does leave a light stickiness once applied to the face but that quickly disappears as it soaks up into the skin. I find it super moisturizing for my dry skin. Overall, I enjoy this serum and cannot wait to try other serums from the brand.

9. Eye Cream: Murad Resurgence Renewing Eye Cream

It’s been month since I’ve used this eye cream and honestly, I notice no visible difference in reduction of my dark spots under my eye or even wrinkles. I feel like it gets the job done at moisturizing my under eye but other than that I feel like it’s any other eye cream out there. Please let me know, if you guys know any good eye creams out there once I finish this up.

10. Moisturizer: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer

I love that this moisturizer goes on lightweight, has a settle scent to it, and is ultimately moisturizing for the face. It’s a wonderful moisturizer that I even bought a backup of it once I finish this bottle up. I even convinced my brother to buy a bottle since I loved it so much. It’s a great bang for the buck moisturizer since a little goes a long way. AMAZING let me know what your holy grail moisturizer is? Mine is this one right here.

11. Sunscreen: Missha Mild Essence Sun Milk SPF 50

A little goes a long way in my opinion because if I don’t have time for my skincare routine, I always make sure to apply sunscreen before heading out. I realize the importance of sunscreen as it prevents me from getting more sun spots and wrinkles. I’ve been loving this sunscreen and cannot wait to try something else once I finish this gem right here.

Review: I Dew Care Olive ‘Bout You Nourishing Olive Mask

This mask claims to hydrate dry skin and restores the appearance of tired and aging skin. I did my usual double cleanse and then applied toner before taking this sheet mask out of it’s packaging. It was drenched in essence and the sheet mask was made of eucalyptus fiber. It smelled like a sweet olive scent a good smell by the way. I left this mask on for about twenty minutes before removing it. I patted the excess essence into my skin and felt that it wasn’t tacky like the other masks from the set. It was very soothing on the face and it hydrated my dry skin super good. I’m not so sure about restoring the appearance of tired and aging skin since you can’t just notice that after one use… I believe if you were to use it multiple times than maybe? I like that it was similar to the morning dew mask since it hydrated those dry patches on my skin. I enjoyed it because the thing that I look forward to the most in sheet masks are hydrating properties for my dry skin.

Review: I Dew Care Un-wind De-Stressing Mugwort Leaf Mask

This mask claims to reduce the appearance of blemishes and calms stressed and sensitive skin. I woke up this morning and noticed a few more blemishes because of ‘TOM’ or whenever I’m close to it, I start getting blemishes on my face. I chose this mask to de-stress those blemishes. I did my regular double cleanse and instead of just following with toner afterwards. I actually went with my skincare routine up until I applied serum onto my face. After that, I took this sheet mask off and applied it straight onto my face. Drenched in essence like the other masks, smells a bit odd but not bad since it was mugwort leaf and same eucalyptus fiber mask. I left the mask on for about twenty minutes before removing it. I noticed my skin was hydrated but not hydrated as the Morning Dew one which sole purpose was to hydrate the skin. This mask did reduce the appearance of my pimples so that was a major plus. It wasn’t tacky to me either which I prefer so that was good.

Review: I Dew Care In The Zone Pore Tightening Tea Tree Mask

After a long day, I wanted to unwind and relax before going to sleep. And honestly, taking good care of my skin is how I unwind. I decided to use this sheet mask because it claimed to calm irritations, reduce redness, controls sebum, tightens pore and smooths skin. Yes, that is a lot of claim so I figured why not give it a shot since my skin was pretty itchy and it wasn’t hives or eczema and then suddenly, I just got a pimple out of no where. I did my double cleanse and toner before taking this sheet mask out of it’s packaging. Again, it was drenched in essence that smelled exactly like tea tree hence the name of the mask. Similar mask shape and design as the first since they are all made with eucalyptus fibers. It definitely tighten my pores because it felt like those Biore nose strips, once you apply it to your nose and it gets kind of tightening but not to the point where it hardens or anything like that. After twenty minutes, I removed the mask and noticed my skin wasn’t tacky or anything even after I rubbed the excess essence into my face. To my surprise, it tightened my pore, reduced redness, calmed a bit of irritations, and definitely 100% smoothed my skin. However, the controlling sebum part not so sure about that. In conclusion, it did most of what it claimed to do so I’m impressed.

Review: I Dew Care Morning Dew Hydrating Lotus Flower Mask

I didn’t get much sleep last night and woke up exhausted. I couldn’t go back to sleep and my class wasn’t until later in the afternoon so I decided to go ahead and get my morning routine started. I did my double cleanse then applied toner before applying this sheet mask on.  The mask was drenched in essence and the mask felt so luxurious and soft and once applied to the face it’s gives off such a cooling sensation. The smell of lotus flower smells amazing. This mask claims to hydrate and restore the appearance of tired skin. I left the mask on my face for about twenty minutes and well, it definitely did hydrate my skin and left it feeling dewy but I didn’t really notice a different to my tired skin such as my under-eye from lack of sleep. But, I do enjoy the mask for it being hydrating because it hydrated my dry patch on my nose. Overall, a great morning mask to hydrate dry skin.
